ArcGIS Workforce
ArcGIS Workforce provides a comprehensive solution for planning, overseeing, and executing various field activities. Seamless integration with your ArcGIS organization is facilitated through a web app, enabling the creation and assignment of tasks, coupled with a mobile app for on-the-go workers to efficiently handle their assignments. After project setup and configuration by the project owner, dispatchers utilize the Workforce web app to generate and delegate tasks. Meanwhile, mobile workers access and complete their assigned work using Workforce and other ArcGIS apps on their mobile devices.
How do organizations integrate ArcGIS Workforce with their work order or asset management systems?
The ArcGIS Workforce web app empowers dispatchers to swiftly create and manage work assignments. Nevertheless, there might be instances where certain tasks extend beyond the capabilities of the web app. For example, a common request made by organizations involve the integration of Workforce with external systems, such as third-party work order, asset, or maintenance management systems, as well as addressing the intricacies of recurring assignments. Through the use of automation and scripting, this integration is achieved.
Automation and Scripting
Utilizing automation and scripting through Workforce provides organizations with the capability to seamlessly connect with various systems, including third-party solutions for work orders, asset management, and maintenance. This integration extends to the management of repetitive tasks and assignments. Workforce seamlessly interacts with the content stored in the Assignments feature layer, irrespective of the method used to generate the records. Tasks may originate from internal sources within the organization, such as asset or maintenance management systems, as well as 311 systems. Workforce also facilitates integration with external sources for both the creation and updating of assignments.
A Workforce project is composed of two feature layers, three tables, and three coded value domains within a unified feature service. The Workforce feature service is automatically generated upon project creation, accompanied by the establishment of a folder, a group, and the creation of dispatcher and worker web maps. The feature service establishes an item relationship with the two web maps and adheres to a predefined schema, as illustrated above.
ArcGIS API for Python
Utilize the ArcGIS API for Python, incorporating its Workforce module, to streamline and script Workforce processes. Workforce assignments generated through the Workforce module adhere to a consistent schema, allowing seamless interpretation by the Workforce system.
