BTL, E.P – Bee Timor-Leste Empresa Publica
BTL is a public utility company recently established by the Government of Timor-Leste for the purpose of promoting greater efficiency and sustainability for the implementation of the Government’s strategy in providing clean water and improved sanitation services to the public. To meet this goal, they required a NetSuite and GIS integrated solution for asset tracking and work order management.
BTL engaged with GCS to implement a GeoBusiness for NetSuite Water Distribution Data Management system, enabling the mapping of water distribution assets, editing data, viewing system maps in the field and office, and asset reporting.
GeoBusiness for NetSuite
GeoBusiness for NetSuite is a Location Intelligence Platform with real-time mapping, visualization, and geo-analytics. Tightly integrated with NetSuite, GeoBusiness enables organizations to monitor operations, share data, and create actionable intelligence through Location Intelligence technology. GeoBusiness for NetSuite created a seamless connection between NetSuite and ArcGIS for field service and work order management. To meet BTL’s field service management needs, GCS implemented ArcGIS Workforce and customized ArcGIS Survey123 forms.
Water Distribution System Data Management
The ArcGIS Solution for Water Distribution System Data Management was implemented as a starting point for an Enterprise GIS. Esri’s ArcGIS models the entire network with spatially accurate data. It has the tools to model networks as personnel are in the field. The solution is used to map water distribution assets, edit data, view system maps in the field and office, view asset reports, and collaborate with map notes.
BTL Work Order Management
BTL required the ability to generate work orders for the following workflows: Operations and Maintenance, Water Quality, Customer Complaints Resolution, Customer Meter Reading Requests, Tanker and Septic Tank Fill Requests.
Survey123 for ArcGIS is a field data collection application that allows users to create, share, and analyze surveys. It facilitates collecting geospatial data, with the ability to capture a wide range of data types, including text, numeric data, GPS coordinates, and even photos. Data points gathered from surveys can be visualized in corresponding maps via Survey123.
Typical Workflow
BTL field workers use Survey123 at a site to record the need for maintenance or repair work. The completed survey triggers the creation of a work order for that location. Work orders can also be created directly in ArcGIS Workforce by the dispatcher. Dispatchers manage the queue of work orders in the Work Force application, assigning and scheduling work orders. Assignments can also be added as work orders are created in Survey123. Field workers complete work orders using the corresponding workflow in Survey123 to collect relevant data.
